about

The definitive version of "SHOULDA SAID SOMETHING" was mastered for 21st Century Redemption Songs in September 2011. An earlier version from late 2010 had circulated on radio and been licensed by Surfline TV. The album version is the first Unquiet Nights track to feature on BBC Radio, in October 2011.

lyrics

Still remember the night when you said
You found someone who's true
You dedicated so many songs to him
He wouldn't dedicate to you
Well you can do anything you want
But please don't tell me that it's fine
You gotta shoot first or don't shoot at all
Cause now is not the time
You shoulda said something, no denying the truth
You shoulda said something, what a lie he sold to you
There's no smile on your face
I'm watching something so good go to waste
You shoulda said something, you shoulda said something
You shoulda said

He got his own band but you don't understand
That that don't make him good
This song will never be Mozart
It's just three chords and the truth
Well you can do anything you want
But please don't hang me out to dry
You gotta shoot first or don't shoot at all
Cause now is not the time
You shoulda said something, no denying the truth
You shoulda said something, what a lie he sold to you
There's no smile on your face
I watch it sinking so low now, without a trace
You shoulda said something, you shoulda said something
You shoulda said

You shoulda said something
No denying the truth
You Shoulda Said Something
